First up is the picture of the collection coming in March. I'll be posting swatches and descriptions of these on the blog soon. I'm just waiting for a sunny day and a good announcement as to when they will be released. We are just waiting for confirmation that the dates are a go for filling our bottles. So look out for that soon. And yes I will release the picture of the flake on the right soon.
And of course these fun ones that end up differently on the nail than in the bottle. The top photo correlates to the bottom photo, but I think the middle polish should be on the right not in the middle. Dang it I have to double check that! But again once we have more info as to final dates, I will let you all know. This one will be sometime in April. Oh and we have a May collection too! Yikes! This April collection snuck it's way in there. We originally planned a collection every other month this year, and somehow we have added two in between collections already. I get to excited when I create something I love to wait. Apparently I have no patience! Who knew? :)
A one coater black that stays super shiny! This is probably one that I have gotten the most requests for! Such a simple color, you can get black nail polish anywhere. But the requests have been for me to put it in the amazing Cult Nails creme formula, make it one MAYBE two coats. (I tried to apply it thinly for two coats - it doesn't work, this is a one coater for me no matter what I try, but I know everyone has different application methods so I say MAYBE because I just can't see it.) It has been asked that it stay super shiny and be good for Konading. OK I get it! You guys want a Cult Nails black! It only took three tries to get this one created, and I think you guys are going to flip over how great the coverage is. This baby needs a name, Juan and I can't agree. If you have any name suggestions, I would love to hear them!
I couldn't not play with these top coats since I kept hyping it up to Juan and couldn't bring them home with me because the lab needed them so they could recreate it for me. I ended up doing a tape manicure and I was planning on taking pictures in the sun today. But of course it has been overcast, so these are the best photos I could get. Very Mardi Gras - that was a total coincidence! Oh and these need names too. We have Two Timer, Deceitful, Duplicitous, but we aren't hard set on any of them. We want names that represent the two sides of these polishes. If you have any other ideas, let us know. Of course as usual, if you name one of our polishes, we will credit you and send it to you free!
Anyway, No idea how this day went by so fast! It's already 3pm here! I have a ton of emails to respond to still, a shower to take since I hit the gym hard again today and the post office to get to, so those of you who ordered yesterday afternoon up until oh about an hour ago can get your polishes ASAP! Shower first? Post office first? I think I'm going to go with the shower and then the post office and then your emails. Sound good? Cool! Catch you in a bit!

I am really looking forward to these collections, Maria. You are putting out excellent work.
ReplyDeletehow about inkwell for the black polish ?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get these. I'm behind on my CN collection too. You are hitting the gym hard, sister! Gonna be a bikini competitor? They have plenty of those competitions around here. What a way to get some exposure....for your NAILS, your NAILS!!!! Hee heee heee!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed! I really really want that blue creme!
ReplyDeletethat's the first thing I thought of when I read the tentative names plus how they have different dimensions was Jezebel, since she's said to have many painted faces and all that stuff.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for the black. I think you should call it Black Out!
ReplyDeleteWhat about calling the top coat collection "metamorphose"
ReplyDeleteor a play on the word. Afterall the colors do transfrom on the nail. And the black polish could be called "moonless night". Just some ideas for thought. By the way I am in love with those top coats =)
Too AWESOME for words. True Chameleon colors!!! Love them!!!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing what that last flakie is! The black and color change polishes look like fun! They are lovely colors and I've never seen any polishes with that property. Since you are looking for name ideas for those, perhaps "changeling" or "double agent" would be useful? I might be back with more ideas :)
ReplyDeleteI think you should call the black Desperation. After all, people were desperate for you to make it!
ReplyDeleteBoth the March and April collections look fab!
ReplyDeleteOnce I finish my Wet n Wild black creme, I'll have to try yours! Now for a name...Undercover, Crude (as in oil), Moonless Night? Ok, the last one is cheesy, but something incorporating night would work. Honestly, though, I think the anonymous suggestion of Inkwell is perfect!
And one for the top coats: Gemini!
Some ideas for the black....Midnight Kiss, Witching Hour, Abyss, Soot, Censored, Tar, I agree with anonymous above that Inkwell is cool, Classified, Absence of light....if I think of more, I'll be back. :)
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is Double Agents for the two-sided colors.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the black, my instant assosiacion was a high-shine Piano top finish. And I've lready posted these comments on twitter:
"wow, a super pigmented glossy black? Has to be named something related to Piano! Maybe just Piano or Piano Black?"
"...or: do-re-mi".
So excited for those dual-nature polishes! I think Two Faced or Dual Nature would be neat names for them. Maybe Eclipse for the black? Anyways the upcoming collections just look awesome! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteOk, I have to put in my 2 cents for the Black polish - I think it should be called 'Nevermore' - it makes me think of Edgar Allen Poe's poem 'The Raven' PLUS you should NEVER need MORE than 1 or 2 coats!
ReplyDeletePoe fan here!!! Plus the concept of NEVER needing MORE... Brilliant! You get my vote.

Nevermore is PERFECT!!!
DeleteWow, us poetry geeks must be out in force today, because the name I first thought of for the black is Raven, or Quoth the Raven. ha ha :) (I also thought of Make them Eat Crow, but that's not Poe related, maybe revenge related...)
DeleteThanks! :D
DeleteWhat is the new black from Cult Nails? Quoth the raven, "Nevermore". How many coats to achieve full opacity? Quoth the raven, "Nevermore...than 2" ;)
DeleteI cannot wait for these to be released Maria! I have a name suggestion too! No joke- I keep an excel file of "words I like" that I would name a nail polish if I had a chance (how whacked am I?) and one of them is very fitting for your color changing ones- Double Entendre...I just love the way it sounds plus it has a great meaning-"understood 2 ways" :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for these releases, can't wait to see swatches! : )
DeleteHere are a few names for the black: Ebony, Darth Vader, Blackster, Nightflight, SpadeFlush, Inky, Licorice Drop
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for these collection :D
I can't wait for these upcoming colors! If you are ever at a loss for names, flip to a random page in a (giant) dictionary and find the coolest sounding word on the page
ReplyDeleteSo excited for them girl! I can't wait for pre-sale time!
ReplyDeleteFew name suggestions: Two-Faced, Jekyll and Hyde (but might need copyright), Naughty and Nice, Night and Day, Chameleon and Dawn To Dusk.
Hmm... I LOVE the idea of a one coat black, so I'm thinking Power Outage, Nevermore (for Poe's The Raven), Jet, Nighthawk, or Nightfall. Though, I think Nevermore is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love Nevermore as well! Good one!
Deletei love nevermore!
DeleteAnother idea: Turncoat!
ReplyDeleteHmm, here's my name ideas... Masquerade, Trickster, Shift, Facade. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I third the name Nevermore for the black. That was a great suggestion, OnceBitten!
The black should be called Bile.
ReplyDeleteAnd the changers should be called the Karma Chameleon Collection. The orangie flakie should be Orangina.
DeleteThe changers could also be called The Masquerades, Undercovers, Covert Ops. Harlequin hits me for the black one too.
DeleteThese collections are going to be great. I love anticipating your collections and knowing that they won't let me down. I am very excited!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Hades for the black and déjà vu for the color shifting ones. Love the tape mani.
ReplyDeleteHow about Abyss for the black? Super excited for the polishes especially the blue!
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you're on the fence about one of the possible names beginning in "D", you could consider Duality a suitable replacement.
ReplyDeleteI'm drooling over the April collection, definitely going to get that one!
ReplyDeleteOh I cant wait!!!!! I love the March collection and the black!
ReplyDeleteI'm always thinking about music to tie in with things, and it was no different here.
ReplyDelete'Back in Black' came to mind for the black polish. AC/DC lives on!!! :)
For the top coats I think it should be called "The Two Timin' Collection" and the polishes should be named after songs about two timing cheaters. There are so many to choose from, but I picked 3 that are of different genres and would make good names for polishes.
The green - Justin Timberlake's 'Cry me A River'
The purple - Bon Jovi's 'Damned'
The gold - Destiny's Child's 'Say My Name' or Beyonce and Shakira's 'Beautiful Liar'.(Beyonce always reminds me of gold!!)
These all look great! Can't wait to see them irl. You've done it again Maria!!:)
I say call the black one Sybil to account for all the ways you can wear an layer it! Multiple personalities!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this collection! I saw the swatches of Seduction on your FB...I NEED it!! If you ever need a blogger to review then, I would be freaking happy to do it!
ReplyDeleteFor the color shift, Multiplicity.
ReplyDeletecollections so great Thanks for sharing this post
ReplyDeleteSO excited!! I actually grabbed a black creme the other day and put it back down thinking "I should just wait until the Cult Nails version comes out" Ha! I can survive with what I have until then. ; )
ReplyDeleteI kind of thought it would be awesome to name the Black "The One" or just "One" because everyone was so insistent about it's One Coat Formula! =) I suppose "The One" could come across as a bit pretentious... but I think it would work anyways. =)
Though I did like the "undercover" suggestion since it will be SO perfectly lovely under the cover of the three top coats!
And it might be impossible to resist "Back in Black!" That suggestion plus the suggestions for naming the three top coats with other songs from Lauri was awesome all around! Love it! =)
Have fun picking the names! You've got lots of good options! ~ ooh, I really liked the "Jezebel" suggestion for one of the top coats too. =)
Loving the polishes! For the black I was thinking Black Whole-spelled wrong on purpose. With the whole part as in complete because of the one coat coverage and the fact that Cult Nails nail polishes are so shiny no topcoat required.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the black . I would call it Black Keys.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
